Making Magic
An Alliance for Kids
Since 2002 more than 3100 Wake
County youth have experienced
summer learning opportunities . . .
THANK YOu
With more than 1300 people at the 2010 Making Magic Family Expo, we consider it the best event yet! Thanks to all who helped make it happen and all those who came out to participate!
With your help, we are letting our community know about summer learning loss and the importance of summer camp.
Keep supporting the Alliance. And it isn't too late to click to sponsor a young person for summer camp in 2010!

WELCOME TO THE HOME OF
THE MAKING MAGIC ALLIANCE . . . making magic one child at a time . . .
about the alliance
The Making Magic Alliance brings the whole community together with the common goal of helping families who need it most with afterschool, summer, and track out options for their young people. We are all about success for Wake County youth.
The Alliance is made up of individuals, organizations and corporations from across Wake County who recognize the need for outside of school opportunities for Wake’s youth. We’re a group of people who are serious about closing the achievement gap and helping all of Wake’s young people have memorable experiences outside of the school day.
We work hard to provide summer camp scholarships for youth who need them most.

Making Magic Camps are not your average summer day camp. Campers will definitely get their share of fun and activity WITH PURPOSE. These summer learning sites are focused on four main areas:
Camp scholarship awards are good for up to six weeks at Making Magic Provider Camps.
Camps are designed to reduce summer learning loss and childhood obesity. For more information on the importance of summer learning check out the Summer Learning Association's website at www.summerlearning.org.
